Billing & Credits

The Australian Transcription uses a prepaid credit system. You add credit to your account and pay per minute of audio transcribed.

Access billing from the dashboard.

Credit balance

The billing overview page shows:

  • Current balance — your available credit in AUD
  • Minutes this month — total audio minutes transcribed in the current billing period
  • Recent transactions — your latest top-ups and usage charges

Pricing

Rate
Per minute $0.02 AUD
Per hour $1.20 AUD

You need a minimum balance of $0.50 AUD to submit a transcription job. If your balance is too low, the API returns a 402 Payment Required error.

A low balance warning appears when your balance drops below $5.00 AUD.

Topping up credit

  1. Go to Billing → Top Up
  2. Select a preset amount ($25, $50, $100, $250, $500) or enter a custom amount ($25–$1,000 AUD)
  3. Click Top Up Now
  4. Complete payment via the Stripe checkout page
  5. Credit is added to your account immediately after payment

Auto top-up

Never run out of credit by enabling auto top-up:

  1. Go to Billing → Auto Top-Up
  2. Set a threshold — when your balance drops below this amount (e.g. $10 AUD), a top-up is triggered
  3. Set a top-up amount — the amount to charge automatically (e.g. $50 AUD)
  4. Select a saved payment method (add one first if you haven't)
  5. Toggle Enable auto top-up

Tip

Auto top-up requires a saved payment method. Add one via the Payment Methods page before enabling.

Payment methods

Manage your saved cards at Billing → Payment Methods:

  • View all saved payment methods
  • Add a new card via the secure Stripe form
  • Remove cards you no longer need

If you delete the payment method linked to auto top-up, auto top-up will be automatically disabled.

Transaction history

View a full ledger of all account transactions at Billing → Transactions:

Each transaction shows the amount, running balance, description, and timestamp.

Stripe billing portal

For advanced billing management (invoices, payment history), click Billing Portal to access the Stripe customer portal directly.
